School's Out

Just finished the latest version of my "Better Digital Photography" workshop. We had a blast. We had lots of fun, and maybe even learned a thing or two. If you want to be notified of future classes shoot me an email at brjphoto@gmail.com.

Go To the Light!!

As I was snapping some shots of Taylor today, I was reminded how easy it is to use natural light to get fantastic portraits. For these shots, all I needed were a couple of white towels from the local store, and two big windows. Oh... and a sleeping baby.

Using this window light is one of the things we cover in my photo class (coming up on Saturday the 21st). Window light is awesome and it is free, which makes it twice as awesome.










Of course, for the pictures above, Taylor had her head turned towards the window. After we finished she turned and looked the other way for this shot.

Tough Guy

Shoots are easier if you don't a have a biker gang breathing down your neck telling you to hurry up because it is time for Popsicles.

Heavy Thoughts

The high school in Sahuarita is a pretty good place to get some great shots. Assuming, of course, you have an amazing subject. Thanks Xander!

Fine Dining

If you are ever in Amado, AZ take time to stop at Kristofer's Deli. I had the opportunity to sample some of fine food that was prepared for an event I was shooting. Absolutely delicous. Grab a bite. You won't regret it.

Chef Charles Deeby was kind enough to stand in for a photo as he ran back and forth from the kitchen to the serving lines.

Get Away for the Holidays

During the break I was able to get away from portrait photography and take some time to shoot at the Sonora Desert Museum. What a blast. I did find out that cactus don't smile. Ever. Even when I play peek-a-boo.
